19th Century Advertising Trade Card (AYER's Cathartic Pills)
On offer is a superb 19th century advertising Trade Card entitled "Ayer's Cathartic Pills. The Country Doctor" Date: circa 1883+
The front of the card is very colourful, and features a Country Doctor giving Ayers Pill's to a young girl, an open suitcase on the floor contains boxes of the pills. The young lady is holding a flyer advertising Ayer's Pills.
The rear of the card is printed in blue ink, and features a full pill bottle to the top left hand corner. the pills are designed to cure:
Constipation or Costiveness, Indegestion, Dyspepsia, Biliousness, Heartburn, Loss of Appetite, Flatulency, Foul Stomach, Nausea, Dizziness, Headache, Numbness, Jaundice,Diarrhoea, Dysentry, and Disorders of the Liver. Eruptions and Skin Disease, Piles, Rheumatism, Gout, Neuralgia, Dropsy, Kidney Complaints, and Colds. (can I have a bottle please!!!).
