On offer is a superb early 19th century wood block print of Reseda Odorata

Reseda odorata: Also known as sweet mignonette is often grown as a cottage garden annual for its scent and is cultivated commercially in Europe for the perfume industry.Reseda phyteuma, which has a faint musky scent reminiscent of the mammalian pheromone androsterone. the plant widely grown for its aphrodisiac scent which was also used in treating bruises - for this reason is why  it has the latin name reseda, meaning a healer or restorer. Reseda odorata was introduced to England around 1750.

Damage: The print is in good condition, although having  some discolouration to the velum. which can be clearly seen on the digital image.The scan has exaggerated the colour of the velum, it is no where near as dark in daylight.  There are no tears, or creases.
