On offer is a superb, original early 19th century wood block print of a rare botanical PETIVERIA ALLIACEA.

Petiveria Alliacea:  or as its commonly called by the indigenous people of the Amazon, Anamu, apacin, apacina, apazote de zorro and many others. This is an herbaceous perennial that grows up to 1 m in height. It is indigenous to the Amazon rainforest and tropical areas of Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Africa. It produces dark green leathery leaves that lie close to the ground and tall spikes lined with small white flowers that float airily above the leaves. It is sometimes called "garlic weed," as the plant, and especially the roots, have a strong garlic odour
 
Anamu has a long history in herbal medicine in all of the tropical countries where it grows. In Brazilian herbal medicine, it is considered an antispasmodic, diuretic, menstrual promoter, stimulant, and sweat promoter. Herbalists and natural health practitioners there use Petiveria alliacea for edema, arthritis, malaria, rheumatism, and poor memory, and as a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory for skin afflictions.
 
Main uses include pain reduction, kills bacteria & fungi, kills cancer cells, reduces inflammation, kills leukemia cells, overall immunity enhancement.  Petiveria alliacea is also known to reduce anxiety, fever, spasms and expels worms among many other beneficial uses, this extract is a VERY rare botanical.

Damage: The print is in excellent condition, although having  some discolouration to the velum. there are no tears, or creases or foxing.
