19th Century Botanical Hand Painted Print: Baptisia perfoliata
On offer is a superb19th century hand painted botanical print.
Baptisia perfoliata.
Baptisia Perfoliata, also known as Cat Bells. is a perenial herb, covered with greyish-white hairs, especially on the upper stems and leaves it's stem goes through the middle of the leaf, causing people to call it Eucalyptus. The flowers are bright yellow and about 1cm in length, the fruit is a pod 8 to 15mm in length.
Damage:
The print is in excellent condition, and superbly hand painted, the print is finely drawn and has kept its colours well. there is no foxing, creases or tears to the print whatsoever.
