White Ceramic Inhaler
On offer is a 20th century ceramic inhaler.
Inhalers were used extensively throughout the 19th and early 20th century to ease lung complaints from Consumption through to Bronchitis and Asthma. A common aromatic would have been Friar's Balsam, which would have been broken up and placed in the body of the inhaler, then hot water would have been added, and the vapours inhaled through the mouth piece.
This example comes with its original mouth piece and cork.
Height: 28.5 cms
to the tip of the mouth piece
