On offer is a one pint "Clarke's White Ceramic Pyramid Food Warmer".

Food warmers were used extensively throughout the 19th century, and were a valuable commodity in the sick room, and the nursery. The ceramic vessel would have been placed in either a metal or ceramic stand, the vessel would have been heated by a night light, and the herbal tea or pap milk would have been warmed via this method.

This is a one pint warmer, missing the metal stand.

There is a chip to the spout and a hairline crack to the bowl, and is therefore priced accordingly.
