Almost every Chemist shop in the late 19th century, sold mineral waters, and ginger beers, many chemists had apparatus to brew their own beers and bottle their own mineral waters. With fierce competition, many chemist's had transferred stone bottles made with ornate, pictorial labels, this of course came with a price, and many adopted simple labels not being able to buy the volume or pay the costs involved. Some chemists had counter top stone dispensing bottles, many were quite ornate, some just larger versions of the standard ginger beer bottles.
