Superb 19th Century Pontiled Tincture Round With rare Pink Label

On offer is a super pontiled tincture round with rare pink label.

TINCT:CHIRATAE: Tinctura Chiratae: Tincture of Chiretta

Chiretta or chirayta consists of the dried plant Swertia Chirata, an erect annual herb, indigenous to the mountainous districts of Northen India.
The plant contains the two bitter principles, ophelic acid and chiratin. Chiretta owes its action to its bitterness; it is used in dyspepsia to improve the appetite.

This is a super Tincture Round, having a polished pontil scar to the base, and a hand blown stopper which is then cut into facets. The body of the round and the condition of the glass are in excellent presentation.

HEIGHT: 22.5cms to the top of the ornate stopper

DAMAGE: None!

DEFECTS: Slight loss of gold leaf to the label border, wear the the black lettering
